SUMMARY
The countryside is more and more comprehended as a multifunctional unit and a living organism with the functions of housing, production and recreation but with various intensity of their effects. The optimum form of the agricultural business activities development determines further developing programmes. It is ideal to reach the balance between the large-scale farms and the family farms, based on competition. Location of the new production units depends on three groups of factors and the most pressing factor is the concentration of production. In the inner area of a settlement it is possible to appoint three categories according to size of production units. Their architectural forms must be in contextual dialogue with the rural area and its traditions.
