SUMMARY
Since the Slovak EIA Act no. 127/94 has been adopted, the Slovak Republic has joined developed countries already using the EIA process and methodology for more than 20 years. The subject of EIA in Slovakia does not only concern the whole spectrum of projects (linear projects, technology units, housing developments and social infrastructure) but policies, programmes and plans as well. The profession of an architect requires mastering the EIA procedure and methodology in order to be able to apply it in a project design before applying for a building license.
