The CRE audit at the CTU in Prague

Milan Pavlík

SUMMARY

The Czech University of Technology became the first university in the Czech Republic that had undertaken an audit in the frame of the CRE programme (European Rectors Conference). The background of this evaluation was a self-evaluating report which has been elaborated by the faculties and by the Rector’s office. The auditors recommended to diminish the number of hours in the curriculum in the first year of study, to extend participation of foreign professors in PhD and MSc exams and at awarding the professor’s degree to foreign professors and to introduce evaluation of the curriculum by the students. The time to assess the positive and the negative aspects of the curriculum renewal has come.
