SUMMARY
The protected landscape area of the White Carpathians is an area with high landscape values, characterized by diversity of the flora and fauna as well as by unique natural environment and folk architecture. These values exist as a result of agricultural production activities of the local people. The settlements, architecture and nature are threatened by gradual emigration and withdrawals from agricultural settlements. These settlements become derelict areas and do not preserve the values of protected landscape area. To stop this negative tendency, it is inevitable to revitalize the settlement structure and agricultural activities in order to increase employment of the people living in the protected landscape area of the White Carpathians and utilization of the area for agrotourism.
