Evaluation of the quality of the environmental impact assessment process to the principal developmental conceptions and legislation

SUMMARY

The article is devoted to a brief evaluation of the quality of the current state in implementing environmental assessment to the principal development conceptions and legislation. We define in succession the main principles of the environmental assessment process at the strategic level and summarise first experience from implementing this process in practice. In conclusion, we put forward some further steps to ensure improving environmental assessment of proposals of conception documents and legislation.
