A retrospective look at the teaching of art subjects

SUMMARY

University education in Fine Arts in Slovakia started in 1939 at the SVŠT in Bratislava, based on the comprehension of its need by the Slovak artistic and technical intelligentsia. Since the establishment of the Faculty of Architecture, the fine art disciplines have been changed according to their contents and to the number of lectures given. We would like to point out that the number of lectures in our subjects have been reduced, compared to other similar schools, which is to the detriment of future architects’ creativity.
